The Department of Community Services provides residents and visitors the opportunity to pursue recreational interests in a safe, friendly and healthy environment. The continuing development of services within the Township includes consideration of a high degree of excellence, safety and functionality. Community Services is responsible for Parks maintenance, The Keeler Centre, Tourism, and recreation programs and events. The Community Services Department, under the administration of the Director, strives for equality in recreational facilities and programs for all.
The Department is supported by the Parks & Recreation Committee, which is a Council appointed committee acting in an advisory role to the Department.In 2004, the Committee undertook the creation of the Parks & Recreation Master Plan, an outline of the future of recreation services for Cramahe Township. The Community Services Department continues to work with the Parks & Recreation Committee to insure the development and to monitor the progress of the Master Plan.
