The Township of Cramahe and the Village of Colborne are located on the shore of Lake Ontario in the heart of apple country in Northumberland County, just over an hour east of Toronto. The warmth and friendliness of our people is one of our greatest assets.
Founded by Loyalists over 200 years ago, Cramahe Township is set amid rolling hills and tree lined vistas. The rustic and modern, historical and new, all exist together in an easy harmony.
In the late 18th century, the Keeler family settled in Colborne and the area proved to be a great place to live from the very beginning. The region has seen a steady growth and remains home to significant opportunities for business and a pleasant and unique way of life for residents.
History is always on display in the architecture of main street and the homes and buildings that continue the legacy of the community.
In addition to being in the centre of Ontario’s apple orchards, you’re also in the right place to visit galleries, shops, museums and local farms. There are endless trails for hiking and biking. Roadside offerings feature fresh baking, produce, cheeses, jams and preserves and an abundance of restaurants and area Bed and Breakfasts. There’s also a multitude of festivals and events that take you through the seasons.
