TENDER INVITATION- GRAVEL CRUSHING

 

SEALED TENDERS for the Colborne Effluent Forcemain, labeled as to contents, will be received at the Township of Cramahe, 1 Toronto Street, P.O. Box 357, Colborne, Ontario until 11:00 am Local Time Thursday, June 24, 2010.

Qualified contractors are invited to submit bids by 12 noon, Friday, June 11, 2010 to the Township of Cramahe for Gravel Crushing. Enquiries should be directed to the undersigned at (905) 355-2846 ext.4.

 

Lowest or any bid not necessarily accepted.

COLBORNE EFFLUENT FORCEMAIN, COLBORNE, ONTARIO

 

SEALED TENDERS for the Colborne Effluent Forcemain, labeled as to contents, will be received at the Township of Cramahe, 1 Toronto Street, P.O. Box 357, Colborne, Ontario until

 

11:00 A.M., Local Time, on THURSDAY, JUNE 24, 2010

 

For the construction of the works described below.

 

The work consists generally of the installation of a 300mm diameter sanitary effluent forcemain extending approximately 3400m from the existing Colborne WWTP to a submerged outlet in Lake Ontario.  It will be installed along the Colborne WWTP Driveway, Ontario Street, County Rd 31, Old Wharf Road and the unopened municipal road allowance, extending 300m into Lake Ontario to attain a submerged depth of 3.0m below IGLD (International Great Lakes Datum) for the diffuser (outlet).  The forcemain will cross under the Canadian National and Canadian Pacific Railways by pipe ramming method.  Also included under this contract is 150m of asphalt road reinstatement, 800m of gravel road reinstatement/reconstruction, and 300m of new gravel road construction.

On the same day, commencing at 11:15 A.M., local time, the tenders will be opened and read publicly by the Tender Committee in the Council Chamber at the above-mentioned address.

Complete tender documents may be obtained from the Kingston Office of The Thompson Rosemount Group, commencing at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday June 10, 2010 upon payment of a non-refundable certified cheque in the amount of $105.00 ($100.00 plus $5.00 GST) per contract set, payable to “The Thompson Rosemount Group”. Tender documents may be studied without payment at, but may not be removed from, the Consulting Engineer’s office (address below), the Kingston Construction Association and the Toronto Construction Association.

 

Each tender must be accompanied by a tender deposit in the form of a certified cheque or bid bond in the amount of Ten (10%) percent of the total tendered amount (before applicable taxes) payable to the Township of Cramahe.

 

Tenders are subject to a formal contract being prepared and executed and the receipt of a Certificate of Approval from the Ontario Ministry of Environment.

 

The Township reserves the right, at its own discretion, to reject any non-compliant tenders and that the lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.  The Tenderer understands that fundamental to this competition is the selection of a tender that, in the Owner’s opinion, is in the best interest of the Owner and the Tenderer agrees that the Owner reserves the right to select a winning tender that may be non-compliant.

 

There will be a site meeting for bidders on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.  Meeting location will be at the Colborne WWTP, 1108 Ontario Street, Colborne, Ontario.

 

The tender close date is Thursday, June 24, 2010.

 

ONLY TENDERS FROM CONTRACTORS WITH EXTENSIVE CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE AND RESOURCES WILL BE CONSIDERED.
