 2010 Municipal Election

On October 25, 2010 municipal elections will be held in your municipality.  The elections are administered by your Municipal Clerk.  This webpage is designed to provide you with information, which will assist you in voting.

 

OFFICE TO BE ELECTED

 

In this election you will be selecting the following representatives for the period December 1, 2010 to November 30, 2014.

 

Municipal Council;

 

Mayor –                      One to be elected

Deputy Mayor –         One to be elected

Councillor –                Three to be elected

 

School Board;

 

English Public School Board -                     One Trustee to be elected

English Separate School Board -               One Trustee to be elected

French District School Board -                    One Trustee to be elected

French Separate School Board -                One Trustee to be elected

 

WHO MAY VOTE?

 

Any person who on Voting Day meets all the following qualifications is eligible to vote:

·  A Canadian citizen

·  At least 18 years old

·  Residing in the local municipality or an owner of tenant of land there, or the spouse of such owner or tenant

·  Not otherwise prohibited from voting

 

Committee of Council and Regular Council meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm. If you wish to be a delegate or you would like to make a presentation to the Council please contact staff by Noon, Wednesday prior to the date you intend to make your presentation to ensure that you are listed on the agenda.
