The Probus Club of Colborne was inaugurated in April of 2003 with a charter membership of 25. Now with a membership of 60 plus, it is one of 8 clubs in Northumberland County with clsoe to a total membership of between 900 and 1,000 retired or semi-retired women and men. Wtih clubs located across Canada, Probus is a social club - non partisan, non politcal, non commercial and non religious.
The Probus Club of Colborne meets the first and third Wednesday mornings of each month at the Keeler Center with coffee at 9:30 a.m. There is always a guest speaker starting at ten, as short business meeting at 11:15 a.m. and adjournment by lunch time. The initiation fee is $25.00 with an annual membership of $40.00. We have a bowling league, book club, an annual car rally, picnic and Christmas party. Annually all the clubs in teh region get together for breakfast, a keynote speaker, entertainment and lunch. In general it's a great way to meet, socially, and enjoy the sociability and interest of new people in the community.
